This week we had a talk by photographer Chris Floyd. He started his career in music photography, touring with many bands around the world and became known for his image of Oasis in 1994 for the magazine Select.
He has shot a lot of documentary photography, and now focuses on portraits which is his biggest interest.
I am not particularly interested in documentary photography, however i found his talk so interesting. My favourite work of his have to be his portraits, he manages to capture such emotion within his images. I think this has something to do with his bubbly and warming personality making his clients feel comfortable and open around him. He says he reacts to what is in front of him, so he uses his own personality to get his subject to do something that he can then react to and capture the perfect shot.
